Description
Four Burners, Glass Surface, Real Control
There is a particular satisfaction in cooking over a flame you can see and adjust by eye, and the Bosch Series 4 brings that to a 60 cm hob with a surface chosen for strength as much as for looks. Four burners sit on Black tempered glass, ranging from a 1.0 kW economy burner for gentle simmering to a 3.0 kW high-speed burner for rapid boiling, with 7.5 kW of total gas output between them. Front-mounted sword dials with knob ignition give precise adjustment, a safety gas cut-off stops the gas if the flame goes out, and the cast iron pan supports lift off and go straight into the dishwasher.
The AD Specialists' Verdict
The pan supports are the detail our team singles out. Being semi-continuous, they are smaller for easy cleaning yet still give a seamless cooking surface, and they are dishwasher-suitable for scrub-free cleaning. Add the safety gas cut-off and the spread of burner outputs and this is a hob that balances everyday practicality with proper cooking control.

Four Outputs for Four Jobs
The four burners come in three types. One 1.0 kW economy burner suits lower-heat cooking such as melting and gentle sauces, two 1.75 kW standard burners handle everyday pans, and one 3.0 kW high-speed burner delivers the most heat for bringing large pans to the boil. Together they give a total gas rating of 7.5 kW. Each is lit and adjusted with a front-mounted sword dial that has a raised centre for precise adjustment, and knob ignition lights the burner as you turn its dial.
Pan Supports Made for Cleaning
Gas hobs have a reputation for being fiddly to clean, and this one is designed to make it easier. The pan supports are semi-continuous cast iron, smaller for easy cleaning yet still giving a seamless cooking surface across the hob, and they are dishwasher-suitable for scrub-free cleaning. Beneath them sits a tempered glass surface, chosen for strength as well as for its looks.
Flame Failure Protection
A safety gas cut-off is built in. If a flame goes out, the gas supply is instantly cut off rather than left flowing unlit. Alongside that, the knob ignition means each burner lights as you turn its dial, so there is no fumbling with matches or separate ignition buttons, and each front-mounted sword dial has a raised centre for precise adjustment of the flame.
Surface or Flush in the Worktop
The hob is 60 cm wide and can be surface mounted for a conventional raised edge or flush mounted for a level finish with the worktop. The cut-out needed is 560 mm wide and 480-490 mm deep, with a minimum worktop thickness of 20 mm, rising to 30 mm for a flush fit. It comes preset for natural gas at H/E/(L) 20 (25) mbar and needs a 220-240 V electrical connection, with a 100 cm supply cord.
