Bagged or Bagless?
One of the most obvious benefits of opting for a bagless vacuum is the money you’ll save by removing the cost of replacement dust bags. For this reason, they’re also more environmentally friendly – you can even empty the contents into your compost bin, given it doesn’t contain any non-biodegradable materials.
On the other hand, bagged vacuums are very hygienic and a great choice for allergy sufferers. As all household dirt and debris is contained within the bag, it is easy to dispose of any potential allergens without the risk of them being re-introduced to the air.
What’s more, bagged models generally have a larger capacity and require less maintenance than bagless alternatives. On average, dust bags can hold up to 2lbs of dirt and require less frequent filter changes.
Corded vs Cordless
Light, compact and easy-to-store, cordless vacuums are becoming commonplace in households across the country. Their slim design makes them a great tool for cleaning cars, stairways and hard-to-reach spots while the battery powered motor makes it easy to clean your entire home without restriction.
It’s important to note that while cordless models offer great benefits in term of convenience and storage, they have a smaller dust capacity and can be more expensive than their corded counterparts.
